Vinyes Domènech participated in the XIII Albariño Economic and Social Forum with a presentation on Unique Estates and Qualified Estate Wine held at the Terras de Asorei winery, in Meis, and as part of the V Summer Course of the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC). A space for dialogue and innovation where we were able to share our vision on the future of wine.
During the day, Joan Ignasi Domènech presented the paper “Unique estates: a proposal for the future?”, in which he addressed the commitment to conscious, regenerative viticulture in harmony with the natural environment.
Qualified Finca Wine and Hairy Garnacha: identity, legacy and landscape
The presentation discussed the value of Qualified Estate Wine as an authentic expression of the terroir and local winemaking heritage. “Our experience with Teixar, the first wine certified as Qualified Estate Wine in the DO Montsant, has taught us that cultivating a unique estate goes beyond viticulture: it is a life project”. We highlight the fundamental role of Garnatxa Peluda, an ancestral and resilient variety, perfectly adapted to our Mediterranean environment. This grape is the common thread of a wine that speaks of biodiversity, living soils and balanced vineyards”, highlighted Domènech during his speech.
Biodiversity as the invisible soul of the terroir
At Vinyes Domènech we understand biodiversity as the basis of a healthy ecosystem and as the invisible soul that gives character to our wines. Our estate is located in the Serra de Llaberia Natural Park, an area of great ecological value where we practice regenerative agriculture and sustainable techniques that protect the natural balance.
A project with a purpose
Sharing this project at the Forum was an enriching experience. We thank the organization for the invitation and all the attendees for their interest. We will continue working to show that another way of making wine is possible: more respectful, more connected to the land and more committed to the future.
